‘De Dana Dan’ is a comic flick directed by Priyadarshan, who is still remembered for his fantabulous mix of madness and humor in ‘Hera Pheri’. The movie stars the trio of Akshay Kumar, Sunil Shetty and Paresh Rawal once again, along with the sizzling Katrina Kaif and Sameera Reddy. Ratan Jain and Champak Jain have produced the movie, which is slated for a release on November 2, 2009, under the banner of Venus Records & Tapes. Pritam has composed music for the film.‘De Dana Dan’ is the hilarious saga of Nitin (Akshay Kumar) and Ram (Sunil Shetty), who are thriving on their rich girlfriends’ money. Both have a bank balance running in minus and their parasitic existence owes hugely to the wealth owned by the women in their lives. However, their ‘good for nothing’ skills are met with an instant challenge when their girlfriends Anjali (Katrina Kaif) and Manpreet (Sameera Reddy) serve them an ultimatum - to earn money enough to elope with them or call it ‘The End’.
Left broke and desperate, Nitin and Ram now start looking for a channel to make big bucks overnight. This leads to the scheming of an audacious plan to kidnap Moolchandji, the spoilt dog of Archana (Archana Puran Singh), a filthy rich lady. Even as Moolchandji escapes from their grip, the Police assume that Nitin has been kidnapped. The plot of ‘De Dana Dan’ explodes with funny twists and turns as the lovers try to get hold of the ransom money.
In their quest for money, Nitin and Ram come across the comical motley of characters like a Chinese Don, a hired assassin, an ACB officer, a club dancer, an ambassador, a young frustrated wife, a letch, a drunken waiter and even a dead body that nobody is ready to claim. The film promises to leave you rolling with laughter, with an overlapping of absurdly funny situations ready to spoil Nitin and Ram’s daring plan, worth a million bucks! Paresh Rawal’s antics will be something to watch out for..
