Jane Adams was born on born April 1, 1965 in Washington, D.C. She is an American film, television and theatre actress. Her mother Janice, an administrative assistant, and her father William Adams was an engineer.
Jane Adams was very much interested in theatre so she studied theatre in the Cornish College of the Arts. She was very focused with her career in theatre that she did not accept the offer of Whoopi Goldberg's movie Sister Act which turned to be a blockbuster. She rejected this offer to work with Arthur Miller on stage.
In the year 1995, she won Tony Award for best performance by a featured actress in a play for the Broadway revival of An Inspector Calls. She has also done many roles for television shows such as Family Ties,Relativity,Frasier and Hung.
